FED Chair Powell spoke last week and
stated that the FED was not likely
to raise rates to combat rising oil prices.
Powell thinks this is likely a temporary
shock to inflation and raising rates could
hinder the economy. The market liked
this stance.

The big news this week is Friday’s
CPI Inflation Report. Inflation is likely
to go up due to the rise in oil prices
and it may be smart to lock interest
rates in before this report on Friday,
April 10th.

There are a lot of characteristics
that go into a mortgage rate –
credit score, investor, loan to
value, loan amount, costs, etc.

3 FACTORS THAT CAN IMPACT
YOUR MORTGAGE RATE

Your Credit Score, Your Loan Type,
and Your Loan Term.

Credit Score – when pricing a mortgage,
there are loan level pricing adjustments
for lower credit scores. Most loans
price in 20-point intervals such as:

780+
760-779
740-759
Etc.

The higher your credit, the better
your rate pricing.

Your Loan Type – typically FHA and
VA loans have a bit lower rates than
conventional loans. Also, some 5-to-7-year
fixed mortgages, will price better than
a long-term fixed mortgage.

Your Loan Term – Usually, the lower
your term, the better rate pricing you
will get. For example, in most situations
a 15-year fixed mortgage will offer
better rates than a 30-year fixed mortgage.

your scenario and see what you could
qualify for.

Hope you have a fantastic week!
