My first real experience with a mortgage came during the Great Recession. As a kid, I watched my family face foreclosure after my mom was told we had to give up our home. That period forced me to grow up quickly.

I began working at an early age and became deeply interested in saving money, financial wellness, and business. After years of learning and working simultaneously, I purchased my first home at just 19 years old.

That experience taught me two important things: homeownership is one of the most powerful wealth-building tools available and the process itself isn’t as complicated as it’s often made out to be. The biggest hurdle is usually fear of getting started.
